The Ashley Suites care facility is a care residence that is comprised of 44 care suites, offering rest home and hospital level care. This facility allows the Russley Village to offer a range of care options – with quality and consistency throughout.

The creation of Ashley Suites was purposeful. We sought to provide a care offering and environment that was exceptional. Creating a beautiful residence from which tailored and meaningful care could be delivered, overlaid with an upscale hospitality offering. A new perspective on delivering discerning retirees an uncompromised lifestyle and care in their latter years.

Personalised Care

There is significant emphasis placed on our resident needs, rather than adopting a regimented and ‘tick box’ approach. Our residents take the lead in their lifestyle, supported by a collaborative approach between clinical staff and family. The extra time, effort and energy to adopt and engage in this model of care – has delivered significant outcomes enhancing the daily life of both our residents and team.

Ashley Care Suites

The reassurance of quality is built in to everything we do at The Russley. However, nowhere is the requirement for reassurance more important than within our care suites.

Our Care Suites with private ensuites have been designed to offer spacious and upscale residential care up to hospital level. Each feature a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and refreshment making facilities conveniently situated within the entry lobby of the suite, allowing for functional separation and a sense of residence.

The cabinetry within the care suite has been carefully considered to be both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Crafted storage space for clothing and footwear, as well as a built in sideboard for residents personal objet d’art and memory accoutrements. All care suites boast a 55 inch television for resident enjoyment. Upholstered bed heads add a residential feel, with an reversible coverlet affording personal choice.

The window treatments have both fabric drapes to soften the room and add a sense of home; as well as sun blinds to provide residents the flexibility with light and privacy. All suites have been designed to accommodate an integrated ceiling hoist should our residents require. Individually controlled air conditioning enable residents to personalise their care suite temperature.

Ashley Suites Offering

Ashley Suites has been designed and decorated with a residential underscore – an intentional move to incorporate high quality fittings and interiors – creating a sense of home and familiarity. With centralised living and dining rooms creating an environment of conviviality and companionship.

There is attention to detail and quality, whether it be the warmth of timber wall claddings and fireplace, or the detail in its decoration. The curated books, picture frames, nostalgic art, flowers, drink coasters, refreshment trays, are just some of the examples of how this home has been created.

A private lounge on the upper floor provides both residents and families a place to congregate both for social engagements, and also a place for respite and reflection. A dedicated salon and wellbeing suite on the first floor, allows our residents to pamper, groom and maintain dignity within the privacy of their home of Ashley Suites.

Innovation in Care

The Ashley Suites at The Russley holistic approach adopts innovative care modalities and technology that discreetly yet dynamically enhance our residents’ wellbeing. We encourage a physically active and mentally stimulating lifestyle and strong social engagement to create a sense of purpose and meaning in a supportive environment.

We are focused on providing a tailored and enriching activity programme which are personalised to the interests and needs of the residents. These include, but are not limited to hydrotherapy, Rendever Virtual Reality wellness sessions, music, art and pet therapy to name a few. Ashley Suites has also dedicated hair salon and we have a visiting stylist for residents to further enhance their sense of wellbeing.

The comprehensive programme is developed and run by our Activities Coordinator and Diversional Therapists with input from our Physiotherapist and extends to outings to the broader community in our purpose-built van.

This diverse approach has demonstrated significant results in the wellbeing of residents.

Hydrotherapy

The Russley Village has fantastic aquatic facilities.

Hydrotherapy forms an integral part of our care programme and a large number of Ashley Care Suites residents are partaking in regular aquatic activity and hydrotherapy.

Hydrotherapy provides a safe and effective environment for exercise and rehabilitation for our residents, helping to reduce pain, improve mobility and increase general wellbeing.

Rendever

Rendever is a groundbreaking virtual reality [VR] platform specifically designed for senior living to increase the feeling of "thriving" within a community, fostering personal connections and delivering new experiences.

Residents can revisit meaningful places, share stories, stay engaged with family members and experience unforgettable moments. The VR experience is incredibly powerful, particularly among older adults experiencing cognitive decline, impaired vision or mobility restrictions. International research has strongly demonstrated Rendevers positive impact on mental health with a significant decrease in social isolation and depression scores.

Generus Living Group is the first to introduce Rendever in New Zealand in all of its Care Centres.

Pet Therapy

Pet Therapy forms part of our regular activities calendar which allows residents to interact with furry friends.

Animal assisted therapy has been shown to have hugely positive results both in terms of reducing physical symptoms and in improving mental health in patients. Spending time with animals can lead to improvements in anxiety, depression and pain for people suffering from a variety of health issues.

The Pet Therapy sessions are held in partnership with St John’s Pet Therapy programme.

We also encourage family members to bring pets to their visits to the Ashley Suites.

The extensive and completed amenity on offer within the wider village, provide a unique experience and opportunity for our Ashley Suites care facility residents. The village amenity has been designed to enable residents with higher acuity to participate and enjoy, including a cinema with accessible viewing options, low rise garden allotments, easy access to the village café and sheltered platform for bowling viewing.

We experience mutual visitation between the village residents and the care facility, with many village residents affording their time to assist in activities. This creates an engaging and integrated living environment - “a community”.

The award winning Russley Village gardens provide our care facility residents with delight. Our activity programme integrates these environs, whether it be through daily walks, flower picking and arranging, sensory experiences or seasonal display and planting.

Dining & Nutrition

We are committed and passionate to provide all Ashley Suites residents with a high-quality food offering. Our dining room has been created to provide a delightful and uplifting experience. All our food is prepared daily on site from Abode Café and Brasserie using quality ingredients, and menus are certified by our dietician.

Personal choice of one’s daily food is important and meaningful. Our residents are provided with a range of delicious menu options for each meal, where they can select and choose their preferred options.

We offer a regular cocktail hour in the lounge, where residents can enjoy an aperitif before dinner.

The Russley Village Abode Café & Brasserie in the adjacent Homestead building is also very popular among Ashley Suites residents both for daily visits with their families and organising life celebrations.
