Cultivating Excellence

General Interest

Generus Living is committed to delivering the highest standard of care to its residents. A key aspect of this commitment is the continuous professional development of its teams, ensuring they remain at the forefront of industry best practices. Through a variety of educational initiatives, staff are empowered to enhance their skills and consistently provide exceptional care.

Educational Achievements at The Russley Village

A clear demonstration of this commitment to professional growth is seen at The Russley Village, where nine members of the care team successfully completed a range of diplomas and certificates over the past year. This initiative, led by Andrew Suano, Generus Living Care Business Manager, in collaboration with Aspire Training Education, reinforces the organisation’s focus on enhancing the skills and knowledge of its staff. These educational achievements are instrumental in maintaining the high standard of care residents receive.

Holly Lea’s Focus on Dementia Care

At Holly Lea, several team members have completed the intensive eight-month Walking in Another’s Shoes training programme, designed to inspire and equip aged care staff with innovative approaches to supporting individuals living with dementia. This person-centred programme provides valuable tools for understanding the unique challenges of dementia care.

Renee Watkinson, a member of the Holly Lea management team, reflected on how the programme has transformed her understanding: “The course opened my eyes to the complexities of dementia care. It’s helped me find better ways to support residents, their families, and the team. It’s a valuable opportunity to approach care with a fresh perspective in day-to-day village life.”

Andrew Suano also highlights the broader impact of this focus on education: “Fostering a culture of continuous learning is crucial for developing a skilled, motivated, and engaged workforce. By offering opportunities for further education, Generus Living not only strengthens the capabilities of its team but also creates a supportive environment where every individual feels valued and empowered to succeed in their roles. This investment in education also provides greater opportunities for personal and professional growth within the organisation.”

Generus Living’s dedication to education ensures its care teams remain at the forefront of industry best practices, delivering exceptional care that truly makes a difference in the lives of residents.
