Set amongst award-winning gardens, the Ashley Suites at The Russley provide boutique rest home and hospital level care for both village residents and the surrounding suburbs.
The latest development is a mix of care suites and one and two-bedroom serviced apartments with an offering including in-house physiotherapist, podiatrist, dietician designed gourmet menu, dedicated general practitioner, hair salon, cinema and accessible swimming pool.Care suites are available by either a normal admission agreement or by the purchase of a Care Bond. A Care Bond is comparable to Occupation Licence’s common at most retirement villages but has an important difference. Rather than having to wait until a unit is relicensed, The Russley will make the repayment no later than 42 days after the Bond is terminated.
Director of The Russley, Graham Wilkinson, said that research had shown that while families were happy to purchase a care unit to secure a premium level of care and accommodation for their loved ones, the uncertainty of when they would be repaid created concern. “We looked at care models both in New Zealand and overseas and felt that an arrangement that provided top quality care while providing security around financial terms was needed,” said Wilkinson, “We believe this will be the only care facility in New Zealand that offers this level of comfort.”
The Russley Village is a mix of villas, townhouses and apartments and since opening almost 10 years ago, has been recognised throughout New Zealand as one of the most progressive retirements villages on offer. The Russley Village Manager Wayne Thompson says: “We work closely with our residents to understand how they aspire to live their life today and tomorrow. Quality care looks and feels like different things to different people, and our crafted packages reflect this. Together with our unique contractual terms we are leading the way in this area.”
